SA Fashion Week

I photographed the "behind the scenes" action at Kluk & CGDT(www.kluk.co.za) show at the SA Sanlam Fashion Week Thursday 18 Sept 2008. It was held at the very cool Old Biscuit Mill (check out their cool website - www.theoldbiscuitmill.co.za ) At first being backstage it felt like it is going to be just shots of models getting their hair and make-up done, but then after a certain photo, creativity kicked in and I started seeing art in the whole process. I wanted to capture everyone involved not just models. At the end of the short night I felt really inspired and enjoyed photographing something different. I wanted to captured moments and details to tell a unique story. Now I would love to shoot Paris Fashion week!!!!

Family fun!

I was commissioned by Greg and Ann do do some family photographs the day before their wedding. I was fun to be creative with these as I don't normally get much chance to do family photographs apart from the ones done on weddings. I will post images from their wedding soon!

A cold but beautiful morning wedding! I am glad we did the shoot in the orchid with the blossoms! I am sure you are happy as well Elanie - she has been dreaming of shooting in that for quite some time! I had lots of fun and I am excited to come and visit you guys in Dubai! This wedding was also featured on Top Billing in association with Aleit. (www.aleit.co.za) I was on Top Billing for a few seconds again...hehe... It was a beautiful wedding with allot of people from New York! New York, New York! I have been to New York once and loved it! My dream is to do a Manhattan City wedding! So anybody seeing this and getting married there- please fly me over! I hope you enjoy these shots Lauri & Charles - it is really only a drop in the bucket, but I wanted to share them in the meantime!

Exciting times!

I am really excited and overwhelmed what has happened to me the last few weeks.As I am writing this I cant but have an overwhelming thankfulness to what God has allowed in my life. God is continually doing good things for EVERYBODY whether we like to acknowledge Him in it or not. (The scripture says the God gives blessing to the just and the unjust - His love is unconditional.)By acknowledging that God has done great things for me I get a sense of closeness to Him and it humbles me. As a photographer I believe it is important to get inspired and excited by your own work. When you finished working on a images and it just satisfies you. Normally in those instances I always cant believe that I took that photo! Every now and then you get a favourite that inspired you to carry on. It is not planned it just happens - I have a new one like that! It feels so good! It happened this time after I printed the images on fine-art paper and mounted it in a frame -it is beautiful! I am going to try a reproduce the look for you- (it is not the same though as the paper has such a nice texture that adds so much to the photograph.)Also the watermark is not on the original.
